Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, administrators can access a few additional functions.
The Basics
These additional functions include:
- Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
- Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without admin rights or autoconfirmed status.
- Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
- Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.
Bureaucrat abilities
A bureaucrat can make other users into bureaucrats or administrators on their own wiki.
Bureaucrats can also give users the ability to "rollback" edits not made in good faith.
Staff
Wikia staff members have full access to all Wikia. They will be shown in Special:Listusers/staff on any wiki. Please use Special:Contact to contact Wikia staff.
Who are this wiki's administrators?
The "founder" of a wiki, the person who first requested it, is given administrator access automatically. Founders are also given bureaucrat access so they can make any other user on their wiki an administrator or bureaucrat. Space Brother Wiki Administrator Code Of Conduct
Administrators are not owners of the Wiki, but merely community managers who keep everything in order. Below is the code of conduct every administrator (and those who wish to become administrators) must follow.
Becoming an administrator
If you wish to become an administrator, please read the requirements mentioned below.
- Must be an active contributor. It will be at the discretion of the current administrators to decide whether or not you are an active contributor.
- Must have no prior warnings or privilege revokes.
- Must be helpful to other members of the community.
We will contact active contributors randomly to offer them an administrator position (if it is required).
New administrators will only be required if the Wiki is growing and the current administrators are not enough to handle the growth.
What can administrators not do?
- Use their power to revoke member access due to personal reasons, administrators are advised to keep away personal issues and think for the betterment of the community.
- Edit locked (protected) pages without talking to other administrators first.
- Edit locked (protected) templates without talking to other administrators first.
- Delete pages without talking to the community and other administrators first.
- Delete images/media without talking to the community and other administrators first.
- Delete non-article content without justification (forum topics, forum posts, talk page posts, etc).
- Perform an action that would harm the community in any manner.
